This weekend my husband and I had a couple of things to celebrate, with one of them being that we reached a milestone of not drinking for 10 months. I’ve noticed that I feel better, more energized, more focused and even lost some weight which was most likely from cutting out alcohol. One of the most significant things that has happened is that I’ve done better things with my time, like helping those in need and making more of a positive impact.
My husband and I volunteered this weekend at PAWS Atlanta and loved it. We helped clean the cat cottage where there were so many cute kitties that need a good home. We also got to socialize with them – see how cute they are?!
We also cleaned the van – doesn’t it look purr-ty (sorry for the cat pun, but I couldn’t resist)?
There was so much to do that we didn’t even get to walk the dogs and spend time with them. We had so much fun that we’re definitely going to go back and help again.
So, what else did we have to celebrate? Well, it was our dog Dali’s 2nd birthday! We rescued her from Labrador Friends of the South more than a year ago and couldn’t imagine life without her. Happy Birthday sweet girl!
Adopting Dali was, hands down, one of the best decisions of my life. She helps me remember that life is good, and that in itself is something to celebrate.
What a fantastic idea for volunteering! I’ll definitely have to check out some animal shelters here in Wales. P.S. your dog is adorable, hope she had a great birthday ๐

I love those photos of Dali – what a charming face! My dog, Mambo, is certainly a reason to celebrate too. He wakes up happy and excited to start the day every morning. You gotta love that!
