Naan Stop: Are You a Naan Believer?

Naan Stop

“Are you a naan believer?” is a question sported on the back of the employees’ shirts at Naan Stop in downtown Atlanta. Well, if I wasn’t before, I am now. This place is ridiculously awesome.

Let me start with the menu. It is categorized by one dot for vegetarian and two dots for vegan. It was so easy to distinguish what I could and could not eat without even asking!

And then there were the samosas. Oh. Em. Gee. When I was eating this fried goodness, I couldn’t even put words to describe how magnificent they were. When I took my first bite into the samosa, packed with flavor and punch, for just one moment – one second in time – I felt like all was right with the world.

I also got the Chola salad, which was leafy greens topped with a chickpea blend, onions and peppers, and two different sauces. The chickpeas were marinated in a wonderfully spicy sauce that was complimented very nicely with the sweet and medium sauces. I ate every last bit of this dish. And, I know, I know…it was probably the most unhealthy salad I’ve ever had, however I cannot argue that it was such a delicious salad.

As I sat in the beautifully designed storefront, watching people out the window, enjoying my chickpea salad and samosa, I almost forgot I was on my lunch break and had to go back to work – almost.

The outrageously good food, the great people watching and the content feeling knowing, without a doubt in my mind, that my food is completely vegan is why I will go back to Naan Stop in a heartbeat. Next time I’m ditching the “healthy” option and going with the Naanwich rice bowl (after posting this write-up, I found out from the owners that their naan is not vegan because it has egg in it) – I’m sure it’s out of this world like the rest of their food.

Do yourself a favor and visit Naan Stop. You’ll become a naan believer just like the rest of us.
