Getting Carried Away with “Carrie On Vegan”

nutritarian saladI’ve been eating out a lot lately, and while the food was incredible and the company was even better, my body was not a happy camper afterwards. Yesterday, I decided to hit the reset button and go back to strictly following Dr. Fuhrman’s nutritarian plan. I’ve talked about Dr. Fuhrman’s book Eat to Live on my blog numerous times because it was life-changing for both me and my husband. I highly recommend that you buy the book if you’re interested in losing weight and getting your health back on track (I was not paid to say that).

We started our lazy Sunday with my husband making Dr. Fuhrman’s blue apple-nut oatmeal and then later on for lunch he made large salads. For dinner, I made veggie gumbo in the crock pot. It took everything in me to not snack during the day and to fend off what Dr. Fuhrman calls toxic hunger. By letting my body detox from caffeine and high-sodium food yesterday, I felt so much better today. I was even singing this morning before work, and if you know me, you know I’m far from being a morning person!

I’ve been following the amazing blogger Carrie from Carrie on Vegan for a long time now, and she is a “Fuhrman-ite” as well. I’m actually quite jealous that she went on Dr. Fuhrman’s Weekend Health Immersion trip – the food pictures and her experience looked incredible! To help stay on the nutritarian plan and make new meals, I recently purchased her Vegan Delish app. It’s only $2.99 and totally worth it! I’m going to try the Tempeh Chili tonight. Carrie is one of my favorite bloggers because she provides a healthy vegan platform for all us to thrive. Once you’ve visited Carrie’s site, you’ll see how it’s hard not to get carried away with Carrie on Vegan.

PS: I know I’ve been talking about Our Hen House a ton lately, but they are doing super awesome work that you should definitely check out. Also, the hens read my article about protesting on episode 3 of their brand new Our Hen House TV show! You can watch it
