Vegan Vacation in Arizona

My husband and I recently vacationed in Phoenix and Sedona, and we had such an awesome time that I wanted to journal my experience and share lots of photos. We tasted so much amazing vegan food and had lots of hiking adventures, that I’m going to break up this post into several different sections.

There’s a reason why I’m not a photo blogger, so bear with me, but I thought it would be fun to tell about our trip like we’re flipping through a photo album, just like when I was a kid. And so we turn the page…

On our first night in Phoenix, we had a late dinner (more like a midnight snack to us with the time change!) at True Food Kitchen. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the super nice weather and the awesome food.

The next morning, we started the day out right by going to Juicd Life. We got a couple of their freshly made juices and Acai bowls. It was both rejuvenating and filling!

After relaxing for a bit, we ventured on down the road for a late lunch to Sage Kitchen. The restaurant is also a tea shop, so the atmosphere was really calm and mellow, and it smelt really nice in there, too. The raw key lime pie was incredible – I just wish they gave us a bigger slice! 🙂

After lunch, we went to the Desert Botanical Gardens. The Chihuly exhibit was there, and it was absolutely beautiful to see his masterpieces amidst the desert backdrop. It was a definite highlight of the trip, which you can tell by the crazy amount of pictures I took (keep an eye out for the bunny rabbit in one of the photos!)…

That night we got vegan pizza from NYPD and it was the bomb (yes, I just said that…please forgive me, but it was THAT good)! The Daiya cheese melted onto the pizza so much like real cheese that Kevin kept asking me if I thought it was really vegan.

That’s where I’ll leave off for now. Is anyone else hungry after looking at all that food? I’ll be back to share more about our trip in Phoenix – you won’t want to miss the story of our epic hiking adventure. Stay tuned…
