My Guest Post on the Happy Herbivore and Other Major News

I could not be more excited to share that I am the guest blogger today on the Happy Herbivore’s Minimalist Monday series! I’m a huge fan of Lindsay’s work, and as you’ll read in my article that was published today, her Minimalist Monday posts have been inspiring and life-changing.

Since submitting that guest post, several months have passed and I have de-cluttered to new extremes. Which leads me to my other major news of the day…

My husband and I are relocating from Atlanta, GA to Colorado Springs, CO for a new job opportunity!! We’re moving at the end of the month, and because of this, we’ve been forced to make some pretty tough decisions on what to keep and what to give away. Over the past few weeks, we’ve sold a bedroom set, dining room furniture, and patio furniture, in addition to taking 3 carloads of donations to GoodWill. I am so thankful that I de-cluttered a few months ago, otherwise I think I would have lost my mind trying to pack up and move cross country.

Stay tuned for more about the move and our cross-country trek, which you better believe I’ll be documenting on the blog! But for now, read about my journey in making my life more zen on the Happy Herbivore, and let me know your thoughts. Are you a minimalist? If so, what’s your advice on de-cluttering?

  1. Your post on the Happy Herbivore is how I found you! And then when I saw that you train for 10ks and half-marathons – even better. 🙂 I’m not vegan but I’m gradually making my way towards vegetarianism. Unfortunately, my family chose not to follow me so I usually make a lot of veggie dishes along with their meat dish and hope they’ll eventually catch on.

Anyway – we are also trying to minimize our lifestyle — purging as we go along. It’s a glorious feeling! I would love to have a much smaller house but at this time, there is too much work that needs to be done to this one before we can consider moving.

Good luck on the move! Colorado is a beautiful place!

    • Thanks so much for writing! I also took baby steps to veganism, and I think everyone needs to do it in their own way. I think that’s great that you’re bringing awareness to your family about going plant-based. Give them time – it may just take watching your transformation for them to come around. My husband and I are both vegan, however the rest of my family (parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, etc.) is not…I still have hope! Patience is key 🙂

Keep up with your minimalist journey, too – to me, both veganism and minimalism are a life-style change and a way of life, so it’ll take time to adjust.

Thank you very much for the kind words!
